The story of Rainbow Hill:

The story of Rainbow Hill starts with, that we decide to spend our retirement in the warms of the dessert of Texas, after we fall in love with the landscape and the people.

At wintertime 2000/2001 we start with the planning of the new home. While it outside was cold and nasty, we where sitting in our heated room in front of the computer and designed our straw bale-house in Texas.   Planning at winter 2000/2001

In the summer 2001 we search our 120 acre for a suitable place for the house and a road to it. Thereafter our friend Dennis build the road for us.   Our building-site

In winter 2002/2003 we started with the first building period. The building-site was leveled, the foundation was poured, a steel frame as base for the roof and the roof itself was finished.    First building period 2002/2003

This time, winter 2004/2005 the second building period should be done. The strawbale-walls will be build up and plastered.   Second building period 2004/2005
